Hi everyone. School starts for me tomorrow, and this will likely damage my blogging schedule. I'm basically forced to stop doing Music Meeting posts, but I'll update the picture on the side of my blog. Alt-8 posts will be out on Saturday, and I'll try to get Weekend Countdown posts out on Sunday. I don't know when these posts will be out, but I'll still get them out each week. One more thing: I think discussing the emerging artist chart is unnecessary to give an overview of the Billboard charts, so I won't spend my time doing that. Let's get right into the Hot 100:
Hot 100
Out of the top 20:
38. Nicki Minaj - Barbie Dreams (#18) [-20]
21. Bebe Rexha/Florida Georgia Line - Meant To Be (#19) [-2]
20. Ed Sheeran - Perfect (#20) [=] {6 Weeks At #1}
19. Taylor Swift - Delicate (#16) [-3]
18. Drake - Nonstop (#21) [+3]
17. Drake - Nice For What (#14) [-3] {8 Weeks At #1}
16. Post Malone/Ty Dolla $ign - Psycho (#13) [-3] {1 Week At #1}
15. 5 Seconds of Summer - Youngblood (#17) [+2]
14. Lil Baby/Drake - Yes Indeed (#15) [+1]
13. Ella Mai - Boo'd Up (#9) [-4]
12. DJ Khaled/Justin Bieber/Quavo/Chance The Rapper - No Brainer (#10) [-2]

10. Tyga/Offset - Taste (#8) [-2]
9. Travis Scott - SICKO MODE (#7) [-2]
8. Ariana Grande - God is a woman (#30) [+22]
7. Ariana Grande - no tears left to cry (#12) [+5]

5. Post Malone - Better Now (#5) [=]
4. 6ix9ine/Nicki Minaj/Murda Beatz - FEFE (#4) [=]
3. Cardi B/Bad Bunny/J Balvin - I Like It (#3) [=] {1 Week At #1}
2. Maroon 5/Cardi B - Girls Like You (#2) [=]
1. Drake - In My Feelings (#1) [=] {7 Weeks At #1)
~Barbie Dreams took a massive drop unsurprisingly. I hope that this doesn't become a hit, especially not after Nicki's behavior around Queen not debuting at #1. Also Meant To Be slipped right out of the top 20, but I doubt that this is the last we've seen of it.
~Nonstop annoyingly seems to be becoming a hit as it re-enters the top 20. Wonderful.
~Also back in the top 20 is God is a woman due to Ariana's album bomb. I'm hoping this one doesn't fall back down too fast.
Billboard 200
Out of the top 10:
91. Jason Mraz - Know. (#9) [-82]
12. Trippie Redd - LIFE'S A TRIP (#4) [-8]
11. XXXTENTACION - ? (#10) [-1] {1 Week At #1}

4. Drake - Scorpion (#3) [-1] {5 Weeks At #1}
3. Nicki Minaj - Queen (#2) [-1] {1 Week At #2)
2. Travis Scott - ASTROWORLD (#1) [-1] {2 Weeks At #1}
1. Ariana Grande - Sweetener (DEBUT)
~I didn't bother to listen to Slime Language, I probably wouldn't have liked it.
~Sweetner is amazing. I love Ariana's vocals, as she delivers her best vocal performance to date. The lyrics are fantastic. And I like Pharrell's production for the most part. I was worried that Ariana and Pharrell's styles wouldn't fit well together. Check this out, it's worth a listen.
~Oh I almost forgot to review Cole Swindell's new album. It's..... mediocre, generic bro-country. Don't bother listening to it.
~Though it won't stay around any longer, I'm glad that Aretha Franklin's 30 Greatest Hits was able to have some success here. It was even the greatest gainer this week.
Artist 100
Out of the top 10:
16. Taylor Swift (#10) [-6] {36 Weeks At #1)
11. Maroon 5 (#9) [-2] {2 Weeks At #1}
10. Cardi B (#8) [-2] {1 Week At #1}
9. BTS (#7) [-2] {1 Week At #1}
8. Cole Swindell (#89) [+81]
7. Imagine Dragons (#6) [-1] {1 Week At #1}
6. Nicki Minaj (#2) [-4]
5. Travis Scott (#1) [-4] {2 Weeks At #1}
4. Post Malone (#5) [+1] {2 Weeks At #1}
3. Drake (#3) [=] {31 Weeks At #1}
2. Aretha Franklin (#4) [+2]
1. Ariana Grande (#16) [+15] {3rd Week At #1}
~I'm happy that Aretha rose up to #2. She'll drop in a big way next week though. Also BTS will likely be taking the #1 spot next week. Just great......
~Ariana unsurprisingly took the #1 spot, and Cole Swindell unsurprisingly hit a new peak in the top 10. Also Nicki will likely drop out of the top 10 next week, and I couldn't care less.
Now it's time to pick who had the best and worst weeks. Best week easily goes to Ariana Grande as she got another top 10 single, a #1 album, and returned to the #1 spot on the artist chart. Worst week would go to Young Thug as it seems like his career is coming to an end, but he failed to get himself a spot on the artist 100, let alone the top 50. I guess I'll give to both Travis Scott and Nicki Minaj as they both have continued fallout from their album bombs.
Genre Charts
Mainstream Top 40:
5. Selena Gomez - Back To You (#5) [=]
4. Cardi B/Bad Bunny/J Balvin - I Like It (#3) [-1]
3. Khalid/Normani - Love Lies (#4) [+1]
2. Post Malone - Better Now (#2) [=]
1. Maroon 5/Cardi B - Girls Like You (#1) [=] {5 Weeks At #1}
~Love Lies is gaining and will likely get #1 eventually. But before then, I assume that Better Now will achieve the top spot next week.
Hot Rock Songs:
5. Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes (#5) [=] {17 Weeks At #1}
4. Portugal. The Man - Feel It Still (#4) [=] {5 Weeks At #1}
3. Imagine Dragons - Thunder (#2) [-1] {24 Weeks At #1}
2. Imagine Dragons - Believer (#3) [+1] {29 Weeks At #1}
1. Imagine Dragons - Natural (#1) [=] {2nd Week At #1}
~We. Need. Less. Imagine. Dragons. In. The. Top. 5.
~Seriously though, Believer, Thunder, and Feel It Still need to leave next week and be replaced by broken, and some other new blood. Hell, I'll even take Brendon Urie.
Hot Latin Songs:
5. Becky G/Natti Natasha - Sin Pijama (#5) [=]
4. Daddy Yankee - Dura (#4) [=]
3. Nicky Jam/J Balvin - X (#3) [=] {2 Weeks At #1}
2. Casper Magico/Nio Garcia/Darell/Nicky Jam/Ozuna/Bad Bunny - Te Bote (#1) [-1] {10 Weeks At #1}
1. Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee/Justin Bieber - Despacito (#2) [+1] {53rd Week At #1}
~Jesus fucking Christ Despacito has spent over a week at #1. It needs to drop. Now.
Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs:
5. Juice WRLD - Lucid Dreams (#5) [=]
4. Post Malone - Better Now (#4) [=]
3. 6ix9ine/Nicki Minaj/Murda Beatz - FEFE (#3) [=]
2. Cardi B/Bad Bunny/J Balvin - I Like It (#2) [=] {1 Week At #1}
1. Drake - In My Feelings (#1) [=] {7th Week At #1}
~In My Feelings can stay at #1 as long as it wants so FEFE won't get there. Please Drake.
~Also nothing happened here.
Hot Dance/Electronic Songs:
5. The Chainsmokers/Coldplay - Something Just Like This (#3) [-2] {25 Weeks At #1}
4. Clean Bandit/Demi Lovato - Solo (#4) [=]
3. Tiƫsto & Dzeko/Preme/Post Malone - Jackie Chan (#5) [+2]
2. Calvin Harris/Dua Lipa - One Kiss (#2) [=]
1. Zedd/Maren Morris/Grey - The Middle (#1) [=] {30 Weeks At #1}
~Thankfully, Something Just Like This has begun to fall. I still like the song, but we need some new blood. Which we got in the form of Jackie Chan gaining up to three. Now it just needs to dethrone The Middle.
Hot Country Songs:
Out of the top 5:
6. Kane Brown - Heaven (#5) [-1]
5. Florida Georgia Line - Simple (#4) [-1]
4. Brett Young - Mercy (#3) [-1]
3. Jason Aldean/Miranda Lambert - Drowns The Whiskey (#6) [+3]
2. Dan + Shay - Tequila (#2) [=]
1. Bebe Rexha/Florida Georgia Line - Meant To Be (#1) [=] {39 Weeks At #1}
~If Drowns The Whiskey could not hit #1 that would be nice.
It's hard to pick a best chart and worst chart this week. I'll mix things up a little and say that the EDM Chart is looking the best as an old song fell and some new blood (and a potentially #1) entered the top 3. Worst has to go to Latin Songs for having a terrible song at #2 and a song that should not still be #1 at #1.

ReplyDeleteNick, please delete obar kuat viagra asli's comment for me? This topic is so inappropriate and has nothing to do with music.
DeleteThanks, Nick.
DeleteNick: I love Drowns the Whiskey. I want this song to be #1 soon. Plus Meant to Be is so annoying.
