1. Ariana Grande - thank u, next (DEBUT) {1st Week At #1}
~Not a good week for Cardi B. I am a bit sad to see I Like It go, though it's had a nice run. Money wasn't good at all.
~Jumping off of increased radio gains and increased streaming, we get Wake Up In The Sky. The beat here is very meh. However, I do quite like Bruno Mars's hook. Gucci's verses are fine, though they're nothing special. And Kodak sucks. So it all balances out to the song being decent.
~Debuting at #1, we have Ariana Grande bringing us the lead single off of another new album titled thank u, next. I've gone back and forth on the song over the past couple weeks, but I can definitely say I like it now. Ariana sounds great as always, especially in the verses. The chorus is a tad annoying, but it's not too bad. The production is a bit underwhelming, though I do like it. However, easily the stand out part of the song are the lyrics. She sings about her exes and how grateful she is for them, including Mac Miller who sadly passed away a couple months back. So it's a great song for now, though I could see it fading on me.

1. Metro Boomin - Not All Heroes Wear Capes (DEBUT) {1st Week At #1}
~Metro Boomin took the #1 spot this week with an album I enjoyed much more than I expected to. Though some of the rappers are not great in general, I feel that Metro brings out the best in them. Most of the reason for that is his genuine talent as a producer. His beats are super chill but also very complex, and this can help elevate some less good rappers. Travis Scott and Swae Lee are great as always, and Kodak Black is terrible as always, but people like Gucci Mane and 21 Savage who I normally don't love listening to bring their a-game here. Great album, glad it got the #1.
~Next up is Takeoff with his debut solo album. Since I like Quavo's project but I don't like this, I feel it would be good to compare what worked in the former to what's happening in this one. A big reason I liked Quavo Huncho was the fact that there were tons of guest features so we weren't just listening to Quavo the whole time. There is not a single guest feature on The Last Rocket. Also, the beats on all the songs on both albums are very similar, and after a while it just gets old. Lastly, I just don't think Takeoff is a very good rapper. So yeah, skip this.
~Might as well talk about the Bohemian Rhapsody Soundtrack and The Platinum Collection at the same time. But what is there to say about Queen that hasn't already been said? They're one of, if not the, most influential bands ever. A ton of their songs are ingenious blends of different genres and musical elements that had never been used before. Some people here may not like their music very much, but just think about it this way: music these days would be much different and worse if Queen had never come along. In terms of the albums themselves, I prefer The Platinum Collection as some of the live performances on the BR Soundtrack don't exactly sound great in just an audio form. They are both very enjoyable listens though.
