New Entrants
~Fast Talk is kinda a dark song. But I do like it a good amount. I think that the vocals are very good, and it's a well produced track. I hope this one does decent, but seeing as it debuted at #8 I doubt it will.
~I don't like Hozier's music. At all. I get that Take Me To Church has great lyrics and all, but the rest of the song is just terrible and really unenjoyable to listen to. And the primary purpose of music is to be listened to, so even if a song has decent lyrics that can't save it if the rest sucks. This new song is better, but it's just boring. I don't think Hozier has a good voice, it takes itself too seriously, and overall the song just isn't very good. The production redeems it slightly, hence why I have it in blue, but it is very close to red. I hope this flops here.
~Also Monster came back for some reason. Not gonna complain about Nevermind returning though.
Fast Blurbs
~Back Down was mediocre, and Make It Up As I Go was good but wasn't going to stick with me. However, I'm pretty annoyed that Alt-Nation decided that two of the biggest alternative songs at the moment (Happier & She's Kerosene) should exit, especially considering that they're both great songs. Sometimes I just don't get this station.
~Baby entered the top 5 because apparently some people want to listen to this? I can't understand who would.
~You're Somebody Else stands a good chance at being my least favorite of the whole year at this point. It just gets worse every time I hear it.
~Lemon To A Knife Fight is really being blocked from the top spot here. I've grown into the song, so I guess I'd be fine if it hit #1, but I'm not heartbroken that it hasn't.
~This brings us to our current #1. My Blood stays up there for a second week. I still like the song, but I don't know how long it'll last with me honestly. So if Nevermind or Lemon To A Knife Fight wants to hit #1 I'll take it.
~Why did Natural only spend one week on this countdown? It's been #1 on alt-radio for a long time.

#1 Recommendation For Alt-Nation: Mike Posner - Song About You

Nice post
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for having pretty much the same opinions on Hozier. Practically everyone loved TMTC, and I legit thought I was the only one who hated it. I'm glad that I'm not.
Good post... Hozier seems to lost momentum ..will not last in AltNation though
