Breif Thoughts On Every Song:
~Let's start with our #1. Say Amen was a song I liked for a good amount of time, but I've gotten very sick of it. Now I find the production very annoying, but Brendon Urie's vocals keep me from actively disliking it, but it's really close to being in red.
~I think a lot of my enjoyment of The Middle comes from not knowing Zedd's older work. The argument I've heard from people who don't like this is that Zedd is selling out, but as I don't know his other work, I can enjoy it for what it is. I think the production is pretty good and Maren Morris's vocals are really great. 9 weeks at #1 was a little too much though, and I'm starting to grow out of this song
~Whatever It Takes is a song that I liked at first. But as with all Imagine Dragons songs I got sick of it very quickly. I'm not a huge fan of the production or vocals on this song. Don't be surprised if this becomes red soon. Delicate is far from Taylor Swift's best work, but I still like it. It's a nice chill song, but kinda boring. I could see this hitting #1 soon, however.
~I used to like On The Loose more than I do now. It's still a fun song, and the guitar is really great, but I'm not in love with it like I was before. This might be our #1 soon, and I would be fine with that. I don't have many thoughts on Tell Me You Love Me, aside from not liking the theme. "You ain't nobody until you got somebody" Really? It's a little obnoxious.
~Something you should all know about me is that I love Charlie Puth and almost all of his songs. Done For Me is no exception. He sounds good as always, and Kehlani adds a lot to the song. This is one of his best works yet, and I'm hoping this can hit #1 soon.
~It's crazy how much my opinion on FRIENDS has changed. I actually really liked the song when I first heard it, but then I started to see what other people were talking about with it. It's just an obnoxious song, and I've totally grown out of it. My mom singing along to it constantly doesn't help. If a certain song leaves soon, this will likely become orange.
~In My Blood is a good song. There isn't much to the production, but Shawn's vocals and the lyrics really carry song. I'm enjoying it for now.
~With a song like IDGAF I'm not totally sure why I love it as much as I do. I find the production chill, but it works really well. Dua Lipa's vocals are amazing as always. And I like the lyrics. I've been in love with the song for months now, so expect it to be in purple for a while.
~Wait holds a special place in my heart. This was the song that debuted the first time I ever listened to a Weekend Countdown. With that said, it's not a great song, but it's pretty catchy. I will probably get sick of Alone quickly. It's a good song, but my mom and my friends are playing it a lot.
~This one's going to be controversial. I get why people like Zombie. I just personally can't stand the lead singer's voice, and I don't like hard rock in general. With that said, the lyrics are important and I appreciate the "throwback covers" gaining some steam, but why did it have to be this one? Disturbed - The Sound Of Silence was way better. Just saying.
~These Days was my favorite prior to IDGAF debuting. I still like it, but it's fading on me. I still kinda like Want You Back, but it's fading on me. I'm a little annoyed that it hit #1 here despite not being popular elsewhere. Youngblood is the better song.
~Once again, this is probably going to be controversial. I don't get all the love for No Tears Left To Cry. Her "speak-rapping" is really weird and off-putting. And the production is pretty underwhelming. I'll get very sick of this song very soon. Sit Next To Me is fine. I don't have much of an opinion on this one.
~My problem with I Wanna Know is that it's aggressively generic and repetitive. There is literally nothing special about this song. I used to love Meant To Be, but I'm really sick of FGL's voice.
~So.... I don't hate Psycho. I don't like the lyrics, or Post Malone as a person for that matter. But I have good memories associated with this song, as my friends listen to it a lot. So that might be part of why I enjoy it.
~AJR. Just stop. Please. Sober Up is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. I hate literally everything about this piece of garbage. I wish Hits 1 would stop giving their songs more success than they deserve.
~I'm going to write only about a sentence for these next few, as I don't have much new to say. Back To You is a nice chill song, and I love the pre-chorus. I still kinda enjoy Pray For Me, but I'm starting to get bored of it. Mine is fun, but it's getting overplayed. I've liked Let Me Go for months, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Let Me is another song where I just don't have much of an opinion on it.
~For a while, One Foot was my least favorite countdown song. I found it incredibly annoying. Then, I randomly listened to it and enjoyed it. Now, I'm getting tired of it again. Don't be surprised if this becomes red again soon.
~Him & I is a decently enjoyable rap song, but G-Eazy is not a super appealing person, which detracts a little from the song. Also, I prefer Sober with Charlie Puth.
~Here's some more rapid fire opinions. I Like Me Better is good for what it is, though I'm hoping it exits before I get sick of it. Over My Head is kinda underwhelming, and the constant repetition of "over my head" annoys me. I'm glad No Excuses is leaving us soon, I was tired of it. Once again, I like Fake Ass Friends as a chill song to relax to, but there isn't much to it. My thoughts on Thunder have already been expressed by many. It's annoying, and I'm very sick of it.
~As far as our debuts go, One Kiss is one of my current favorites due to good production and incredible vocals. Rich is really annoying and just kinda obnoxious. I hope it flops on the countdown, but I doubt it.
~I get why people hate Never Be The Same, and I don't like it, but it's an okay song. I like Camila's voice more than most other people do. Perfect is the most overplayed song of this year by far. I'm very close to hating this song. I fell in love with All The Stars as soon as it was released. It's too bad that it will likely be exiting this week.
~I've been listening to How Long literally since the first day it was released. For a while, this was my favorite song. Now, I'm starting to get a little tired of it. I hope it leaves before I start to dislike it.
~Bad At Love and Finesse both got very overplayed. However, I've grown back into Finesse. Hurt Somebody is a little boring, but it's a nice song to relax with. New Rules and Havana are both very good songs that have just been around for too long.
~Lights Down Low was a song that I've enjoyed for much longer than I expected to. From the first listen, I fell in love with the song and recently I've started listening to it a lot again. Everything about this song is just perfect. It's a shame that it will likely be leaving us this week.
~As far as the exits go, they were both far overdue.
~I think that's every song. If I missed one, tell me.
Hit-Bound:
- Sam Smith/Logic - Pray
- HRVY - Personal
- Fall Out Boy - The Last Of The Real Ones
- Sugarland/Taylor Swift - Babe
- Hundred Handed - Too Good
- Panic! At The Disco - High Hopes
- 5 Seconds of Summer - Youngblood
- Cardi B
/Bad Bunny/J Balvin- I Like It (Radio Edit) - In Real Life - Tattoo (How 'Bout You)
- Liam Payne
/J Balvin- Familiar (Radio Edit) - lovelytheband - broken
- Meghan Trainor - Let You Be Right
- Dennis Lloyd - Nevermind
- The Wrecks - James Dean
- U2/Cheat Codes - Love Is Bigger Than Anything In It's Way (DEBUT)
- Backstreet Boys - Don't Go Breaking My Heart (DEBUT)
- Maroon 5/Cardi B - Girls Like You (DEBUT)
~Pray is enjoyable. I love both Sam Smith and Logic, so that helps. I'm glad it'll likely debut this week, but it's faded on me a little.
~Personal is just awful. I cannot stand HRVY's voice. The kid can't sing. The production is one of the most annoying things I've heard since Jacob Sartorius.
~The Last Of The Real Ones and Babe are both pretty good. The Last Of The Real Ones is easily the best song off of MANIA. I haven't listened to Sugarland's whole album, but I'm not sure I'll enjoy it as much as I enjoy Babe. Taylor's contribution adds a lot to the song, and I like this a lot more than Meant To Be. Why couldn't this have been the big pop-country hit?
~Too Good is just repetitive and annoying. I see nothing appealing about this song. I really wish this wasn't debuting.
~High Hopes is so good. I love the theme, the production, and as always Brendon's vocals are on point. I have some slight bias as this was just my graduation song, but even putting that aside I still love this song.
~Youngblood is way better than Want You Back. The production and vocals are both very good. I'm glad this is likely debuting.
~I Like It would easily be my favorite hit-bound song if it weren't for the radio edit. It just loses so much without Bad Bunny and J Balvin. I have the same problem with Familiar, but to a lesser extent.
~Tattoo and broken are two song that I like but have almost no chance to debut. The production is pretty chill on Tattoo, but the vocals really stand out. It's the opposite on broken, where I like the production but the vocals are kinda underwhelming.
~Let You Be Right is just mediocre Meghan Trainor product. There isn't anything special about this one.
~I enjoy both Nevermind and James Dean. While I'm not a huge fan of rock in general, James Dean is a fun and upbeat song. Nevermind has mediocre vocals but very good production.
~Time for the debuts. Love Is Bigger Than Anything In It's Way is kinda a boring song in my opinion. I don't like U2 that much as a band. Don't Go Breaking My Heart is really bad. The autotune is useless and unnecessary, and the production just isn't good. Girls Like You is a great song, and I'm glad Maroon 5 is stepping up their game. Cardi B's verse is the best verse from any song on hit-bound.
