Kanye West (1) - Billboard 200 Top 25 (Week of 6/9/18)

Hi everyone. This is another thing I want to do on this blog. I think there's already a lot of Hot 100 reviews, and reviewing the Billboard 200 could be fun also. I'll try to listen to all the singles from each album, and if there's only one or two I'll listen to some of the other songs. For this first post, however, I may still have not listened to some albums at all. I'll only be reviewing the Top 25, as 200 albums would just be too much. I initially wanted to do the whole top 50, but I decided that would just be way too much. Maybe sometime soon. Without further ado, here are the songs leaving the Top 25:

New Entrants

~God's Favorite Customer is a basic gospel album. As I'm not a religious person, this type of music doesn't appeal to me at all.

~The first of our two big debuts is Prequelle by Swedish band Ghost. This feels like a knock-off of Metallica, and as I've stated before, I'm not a fan of their type of music. It just is really repetitive, and also disturbingly dark. I'm really confused about why this debuted so high. It'll likely have a big drop next week.

~And we get another album debuting at #1. And it's not surprising at all. ye is not good at all. Honestly, Kanye just doesn't sound good at all on this album. I Thought About Killing You is one of the most messed up things I've heard in a while, and he barely even raps on it. The rest of the album is a little better, but not much. I don't see this dropping anytime soon, however.

God's Favorite Blurbs
~Tons of older Kanye albums re-entered and had big jumps this week due to the release of ye. Because of all the Kanye, almost every album had a bit of a drop this week.

~Post Malone continues to hold at #2 with beerbongs & bentleys. I enjoy this album more than most in the blogging community. I really almost everything about most of the songs, but the obnoxious lyrics keep it from being really great. It's still good for what it is, though. I would rather have this back at #1 over ye.

~Red Pill Blues and This One's For You both had big jumps this week. The former likely jumped so much due to the release of Girls Like You, and the latter due to the release of the deluxe version of the album. I was considering putting This One's For You in blue, but the lyrics pushed it back into pink. I still kinda enjoy it though. I don't see either of the jumps lasting.

~I get that most of you don't like Cardi B. I just find her whole album incredibly catchy. I'm hoping that this one can hit #1 again soon, and it's not totally impossible that it could. On the other hand, I'm pretty confused about why Juice WRLD continues to have success in general. Lucid Dreams is #1 on U.S. Spotify which is probably why this garbage keeps jumping, but I really don't get the appeal. He can't rap, and all of his production is pretty bad.

~I'm a little surprised Shawn Mendes was #1 last week. I have a feeling that this one is going to drop fast. Look at what happened to Voicenotes, which is a much better album in my opinion.

~I'm glad that Divide and reputation continue to chart high, though I fear they will keep falling soon. Evolve, on the other hand, is an album I would be fine with dropping. Sooner rather than later.

~CHVRCHES - Love Is Dead dropped very quickly. I've heard a couple of the singles from this album on the alt-8, and they're fine I guess, but I still need to listen to the album a little more.

Predictions
I've noticed that albums have a tendency to debut at #1 here. I think that a good section for this blog would be to discuss albums that came out in the given week and their chances to debut at #1. Here are some of the albums that came out this week:

~With their first two albums debuting at #1 here, I think that 5 Seconds of Summer - Youngblood could be our #1 next week.

~The Rolling Stones released a vinyl album collection, so that could push some of their older albums up the chart. Not #1, but higher.

~The Killers released a vinyl collection as well, but they haven't had a big hit in a while. I doubt this will change anything.

~Christina Aguilera has a new album, but I doubt it will be successful.

    1. I like how you reviewed the album chart because I've never seen that before. Also, I agree with you on a lot of those predictions, especially Xtina's album flopping. She is definitely going downhill like most artists tend to do.

Also, if you ever want something other than blogging, you can join a lot of us on Pulse. It's another music forum and you can do more on it than here. I love bringing people from here over there as they sometimes end up contributing a lot there. So if you're interested, here's the link:

      1. The problem with blogging and going to Pulse is that with you Parker and others here have decided to straight up abandon blogging altogether in favor of a bunch of hard-core stans who take artist they support far too fucking seriously.

And yes I still hate Pulse for their unfair permaban on me, and I refuse to go any further than that. Nick, don't join Pulse, otherwise you'll have people like Parker, Graham, and . who've basically stopped or haven't done serious blogging in months.

      2. ^I agree for the most part, but you only if you stay in the right threads. I am one warning to a permaban and that was because I stayed in the general no-music threads. If you go into the games section and some of the radio song threads, I think you will be fine as long as you don't take stuff too seriously.
